Hat sich als kleiner Junge gefragt, was wohl passiert,
dann wenn die Handlung stoppt, als ob sie wer einfriert,
und ob seine Comic-Helden weit vor dem Happy End
auch wirklich warten bis er nächste Woche gespannt zum Büdchen rennt,
seine Groschen hinlegt, "Tarzan" sagt und dann im Dschungel aufwacht,
trotz Rotznase als Mann,wo Gute mit weißen Hüten, Schlechte in schwarz,
weil er es andersherum noch nicht versteht – erst auf den Leim gehen und später besiegen.
Doch ehe das endlich passiert, steht da:

egal, wie schnell sein Puls auch schlägt.
Für den kleinen Spargeltarzan ist eine Woche Showdown eine Ewigkeit.

sogar mit Kavallerie, wenn wieder mal irgendein Fießling Jane bedrohte.
Tarzan und er kannten sämtliche Tricks.
Durch tausend Heftchen nur Sieger – sonst nichts.

Doch hier auf dem Arbeitsamt, hier auf dem Flur,
auf dem er Woche für Woche steht,bestellt und nicht abgeholt
kennt er jedes Wort schon, das der da drin ihm gleich sagt:

"Bis nächste Woche...",egal, wie schnell sein Puls auch schlägt,
wie unerträglich die Spannung wird,

Shame on you

Just got my Apple Macbook back..... Seems it has become usual hard drives die after a few months of usage. Mine lasted 9 months and then came the data reaper which took away one year of work.... I learned and have bought a backup disk. Seagate is to blame but Apple too. I left a message at their feedback section but I'll never get a feedback for sure. They replaced the faulty Seagate with a Hitachi, which is even worse.... Wonder if I shall go back to peecee (pc) and install OS X on a Vaio.....

Global economy = globally crappy mass production !

The price tag used to be a guarantee when buying a mac (as it still is with german cars.... but for how long?). My first Mac cost over 3000 Euros in 2001 !

I still use it and it shall outlast this *ç%&(/&% Macbook forever !

www.crollinger.com and www.canonfd.com no redirect to this blog and the number of hits has been increasing impressively. I'd like to share the following thought:
There are various ways to re-publish the site (although not in the latest version since I don't have an update...my fault !)
1) web hosting paid by myself (maybe by donations thru paypal). Not that expensive !
2) someone is genereous and hosts the site on an ad-free server. It doesnt't need much, just ftp access. It's all plain html, jpg, pdf and even some gif.... :-D And an own nameserver, do a whois of www.canonfd.com and you'll see what I mean.
I received some feedback since yesterday. If anyone could host the site... thousands of enthousiasts (as well as myself) would be extatic....lol. I Still have tons of unpublished stuff that has to be done, possibly in collaboration with enthusiasts.

Canon FD site

Dear friends, canonfd.com is still dead. I've received many requests and questions about the site. What happened. The site as well as crollinger.com were hosted by a friendly person named Javier Henderson in California. Servers happen to crash and die eventually, just like persons. I have discovered a backup from 2004 which contains most of the stuff published on the site. I will, when I get the time, put the site back online under www.canonfd.com, the URL remaining the same. My Ramirezi couple spawned yesterday, I don't think there's much hope for the eggs but who knows. Neons and Corys are kept away in a quite agressive manner....

Tank

I used to have 2 tanks with tropical fish, but then somehow they just vanished a few years ago. 3 weeks ago, I decided to rebuild a small south american tank with 2 Corydoras, 1 Ancistrus sp, 10 Neon innesi, 2 Ramirezi, lots of plants. Nitrite peak's already gone.... :D Everything is running smoothly for now.

Blog is finally back online, old server crashed, hard disks are toast. Most of the images on the blog were locally hosted and are also lost. Text parts are maintained.

Tausende Quietsche-Enten nehmen Kurs auf England

29.000 Plastiktiere auf hoher See: Eine Frachterladung Badewannen-Spielzeug treibt seit 15 Jahren mit der Strömung über die Weltmeere. Diesen Sommer erwarten Experten einige der Plastikenten an der englischen Küste - auf glückliche Finder wartet eine Belohnung.

Wenn die gelben Enten, blauen Schildkröten und grünen Frösche aus Plastik sprechen könnten, würden sie Unglaubliches berichten: von dem Sturz ins Wasser vom Containerschiff, der Trennung von den Artgenossen durch Strömungen, vom Eis in Alaska. Von Pazifik und Atlantik, brüllender Hitze und haushohen Wellen. Statt einer von Spiel und Spaß geprägten Existenz in den Baby-Badewannen der USA wartete auf die in China gefertigten "Friendly Floatees" eine 15-jährige Odyssee - die ausdauerndsten Exemplare legten dabei fast 17.000 Meilen (27.000 Kilometer) auf dem Meer zurück, wie die britische "Times" berichtet.

Doch von vorne: Im Januar 1992 verlor ein Frachter aus Hongkong auf seiner Reise nach Tacoma im US-Staat Washington im Ostpazifik einige Container mit insgesamt knapp 29.000 Spielzeugtieren. Die Behälter öffneten sich, und die Plastikobjekte schwammen fortan auf den Weltmeeren dorthin, wo die Strömung sie hintrieb, und verteilten sich in verschiedene Richtungen.
Zwei Drittel der "Floatees" trieben nach Süden, einige Exemplare wurden in Australien, Indonesien und Südamerika gefunden. Etwa 10.000 der Figuren gelangten in nördlicher Richtung durch das Beringmeer in Richtung Alaska, wo einige im Eis festfroren und andere strandeten. Im Jahr 2000, acht Jahre nach dem Unglück, wurden einige Plastikenten im Nordatlantik zwischen Maine und Massachusetts gesichtet. Durch die Firmenaufschrift "Frist Years Inc." waren sie eindeutig zu identifizieren, obwohl Sonne und Meer die Oberfläche gebleicht hatten.
Inzwischen hatte die Planschtier-Armada nicht nur zwei Autoren zu Kinderbüchern inspiriert, sondern auch das Interesse von Meeresforschern geweckt. Durch Entenfunde konnten Wissenschaftler Aufschlüsse über Klimawandel und Meeresströmungen gewinnen. Experten rechnen damit, dass der Kunststoff mindestens 100 Jahre im Meer überstehen wird.
Im Jahr 2003 wurde eine Plastikente auf den Hebriden im Nordwesten Schottlands gefunden, jetzt sagen Ozeanforscher voraus, dass sie diesen Sommer in England, im Süden Irlands oder im Westen Schottlands angespült werden könnten. "Cornwall und der Südwesten Englands werden vermutlich die erste Welle abkriegen", sagte Ozeanforscher Curtis Ebbesmeyer, der sich seit Jahren mit den Reisewegen der "Friendly Floatees" beschäftigt, der englischen "Daily Mail". Wenn die ersten Enten und Frösche an britischen Strände auftauchen, könnte das einen wahren Goldrausch auslösen - der Hersteller hat für jedes gefundene Tier einen Finderlohn von 50 Pfund ausgesetzt.

One for the ears

This tune from Allan Holdsworth is one of my all-time favourite guitar pieces. His distinctive tone and incredible technique make him a guitarist extraordinaire. Originally featured on Atavachron, this video comes from an instructional tape(....) once published in the good old VHS days. Ah, yes strange name for a tune, it's called "Funnels". I suggest reading an extensive interview with Holdsworth in order to get acquainted with his music.

L'entremetteuse sublime - La Celestina

En 1499, à Burgos, un texte d’une liberté inouïe est publié, titré La Célestine. D’autres éditions suivront bientôt, de 1500 à 1507, aboutissant à l’œuvre telle que nous la connaissons aujourd’hui (un récit intégralement dialogué, mais qui ne répond guère aux conventions usuelles du genre théâtral). L’auteur ? Son nom apparaît, en acrostiche, dans certains vers du prologue : c’est celui de Fernando de Rojas, qui prétendra par la suite avoir rédigé l’essentiel de cette œuvre alors qu’il était étudiant en droit, durant « quinze jours de vacances » (ce qui semble bien improbable).

On découvrira plus tard que le père de Fernando de Rojas fut brûlé vif en 1488 sur ordre de l’Inquisition, en tant que « judaïsant » – d’où les traces, dans La Célestine, de cette culture souterraine des juifs « convertis » d’Espagne, experte dans l’art du double jeu, de la métaphore allusive, du message crypté. Ce qui est indubitable, en tout cas, c’est qu’il s’agit là de l’un des grands textes inauguraux des temps modernes – un siècle avant Don Quichotte, et plus de trente ans avant les romans de Rabelais.

Ici, en effet, le Moyen Age s’éloigne. Plus d’épopée, plus de merveilleux, plus de soumission à l’orthodoxie religieuse, plus de code courtois ou chevaleresque – ou, plutôt, tout cela subsiste mais à l’état résiduel, contrarié par l’apparition d’un monde nouveau, urbain, trivial, désenchanté, où le sexe et l’argent deviennent les mobiles dominants des activités humaines. Le noble Calixte, pour séduire Mélibée, fille d’un riche marchand, achète les services d’une vieille entremetteuse, Célestine, qui lui permettra, par l’emprise qu’elle exerce, de parvenir à ses fins. Autour, valets et servantes s’agitent, se déchirent, s’allient au gré des désirs et des conflits d’intérêt. Tout cela finira mal, mais sans qu’on puisse y voir une conclusion morale. C’est tout l’intérêt de la forme dialoguée : aucune « vérité unique » ne coiffe l’ensemble du récit, les commentaires se contredisent, les opinions s’affrontent, les jugements sont relativisés.

Ici, les valeurs anciennes sont perturbées, les hiérarchies sociales déstabilisées, les cultures se heurtent (références religieuses, pensée humaniste nourrie de l’Antiquité, proverbes de la tradition orale, populaire). Célestine, le premier personnage mythique de la littérature européenne à ne plus rien devoir à l’épopée, domine de sa lucidité cet entrelacs de passions érotiques et de circulation d’argent : l’univers, comme le souligne Juan Goytisolo dans sa préface, est devenu une « foire trompeuse », un « marché » généralisé – où tout, à chaque instant, et jusqu’aux valeurs les plus sacrées, est susceptible d’être corrompu.

C’est tout le roman moderne, de fait, qui est ici en germe. Or, nous ne disposions, en France, jusqu’à présent, d’aucune traduction susceptible de nous faire éprouver cette étonnante fraîcheur. Avec Aline Schulman, enfin, c’est fait : car, en évitant le double piège de l’archaïsme et de l’anachronisme, elle réussit l’exploit de faire respirer ce texte à l’air libre, de le projeter dans une langue vivante, accessible. La Célestine, du coup, cesse d’être un pur objet d’érudition, pour prendre sa place aux côtés des plus grands romans de tous les temps. On l’aura compris : plus qu’une traduction, il s’agit là d’une véritable résurrection.

Sounds in the mirror

Currently I'm listening (again and again) to various electronica artists which I consider to be the best of the genre. I'm fascinated by the music of Peter Kuhlmann (aka Pete Namlook), a prolific german musician, who has produced more than 300 albums since 1992 (when he created the wonderful FAX label), mostly in association with others (Tetsu Inoue, the ambient master from Japan, Bobby Bird, Bill Laswell, one of the most versatile musicians in the world and the legendary Klaus Schulze). Namlook has certainly put out tons of material which varies in quality and musical consistency. His albums include ambient, but also more rythmic stuff which I prefer. He's not afraid of collaborating with a wide range of musicians. I especially like his collaboration with turkish musician Burhan Oçal & his collaboration with the xylophonist Karl Berger.

Sarkozy Président.... et puis quoi ?

Sarkozy, Royal, Bayrou, Le Pen, pas tous pareils, sauf sur un point, l'attrait du pouvoir, ça fait les fait tous bander. SaRkO l'a remporté, pourquoi s'indigner ? La voix du suffrage universel a parlé. On dira que certains moustachus ont été élus par des milliers et milliers sur base de démocratie certes, mais aussi de misère et d'exclusion. BUsh, imberbe, a bel et bien triché .... et le pouvoir s'était dans l'urne informatique....
Malgré les dérapages et déviations, je crois fermement à la raison et à l'intelligence des masses (au moins en notre Europe de tradition gréco-latine) ! La fonction de Président de la République exige une dignité, une contenance et une sérénite extraordinaires.
C'est la fonction qui fait le bonhomme.... Citons Roland Barthes : le style c'est l'homme.... ici c'est le poste. Sarkozy ne sera pas plus dangereux ni radical que tous les autres présidents.

Par contre les bourges entre 16 et 21 ans qui font la fête à la salle Gavot me dégoûtent. Beaux et cons à la fois.
